Do you think your experiences in childhood have influenced your present creative endeavors? Monica Mayhem: Absolutely, I had a messed up childhood, which I wont go into, you'll have to buy my book 'sex, rock, and mayhem', coming out in Australia next year! * You have featured dancing all across America, Canada and Australia. Tell me about a great experience you had as an exotic dancer. Monica Mayhem: It's great to be the 'main attraction' in a club, some clubs have been great, especially when there's a nice big stage. The biggest was probably 'the admiral theatre' in chicago, absolutely huge, like a real theatre, i love that, I love the attention from the crowd, I feed off their energy. But some clubs have tiny stages that you can't really do a big show on, so that's not very exciting to me, but i'm there to meet the fans anyway. * Francois Truffaut, who was a French director, said once: "In love, women are professionals, men are amateurs". What do you think? Monica Mayhem: Not necessarily true, some men are great in love, I haven't had a strong relationship for a long time now cause of my career, so I couldn't tell you. * According to a report in The Economist (May 22, 2003), Americans now spend more each year on beauty than they do on education. What is the source of our eagerness to be seen as more beautiful and our readiness to sacrifice for beauty? Monica Mayhem: I think because it's so in your face in this country, everything you see on tv is about this celebrity and that celebrity, and how beautiful they are, and then picking on them when they're not so beautiful without makeup, its absolutely ridiculous, whatever happened to 'beauty is skin deep'? * Is there anything that you haven't done yet that you feel compelled to achieve in the future? Monica Mayhem: Still striving to do music, and get some more mainstream roles, since I landed 'sex and the city' the movie in January, that gave me the taste to want to do some more real acting, which was my life's dream.
