* Natasha, please tell me about your recent successes.
Natasha Yi: My first lead role in a film called "Thunder Over Reno" was screened this summer and is slated to be released to the public this winter. I also recently finished filming a small role in Tarantino’s upcoming film, "Hell Ride". I just made the big move back to Los Angeles so that I can spend more time on my future in acting. I am, however, continuing to model for a wide range of publications and corporate sponsors. You might have seen me this summer in a Pepsi Cola or Regis Hair Salon ad, in a Marriot Hotel campaign, or in one of the several magazines like Maxim and FHM that circulate around the world. Oh, and I think I might be interested in hosting, after hosting several segments for Octane TV. |

* Looking back to your childhood in Boston, Massachusetts, were there any signs that you
would be a great talent as you are today?
Natasha Yi: I mostly remember as a child being teased because I looked different than the other kids. Most kids that are picked on during some part of their childhood, use it as motivation to do something big or to be recognized. In fact, my childhood in Boston set me up for a series of great, perpetual things in my life. The first thing it gave me was low self-esteem. That, of course, turned into a compulsive desire to gain self worth through attaining big jobs. And thankfully, that turned into one big, long, empty fall into an abyss of loneliness as a I searched to find happiness in the acceptance of others. Just Kidding!!! I wanted to write something dramatic. To answer your question, no, there were no signs (smiles). * I see you just finished a shoot for the Czech version of Maxim. What's the biggest difference between a U.S. and European photo shoot? Natasha Yi: I actually haven't been on any shoots in Europe. Almost all of the pictures that have been published in the European, Asian, and African Markets were shot in the U.S. I can, however, tell you that the experience that comes with having your pics published half way around the world is awesome. The letters and fan mail that I have received and responded to have given me such a unique look into other people's lives. Granted, the experience is nothing like meeting someone in person, I sometimes feel like it’s better due to the imagination that is required on both sides. * What motivates you in a job? Natasha Yi: My motivation honestly is to help raise awareness. I feel like if people see me, and want to be me, then they will want to be what I want to be, and that's Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. Joking folks... I don't want to be Brad or Angelina...lol... I just want to have fun, be productive and live life to the fullest! * How did your modeling career affect your self-esteem? Natasha Yi: I think it affected me the way that it affects most models that I have spoken with. It is a double-edge sword. It can do wonders for your self-esteem when you nail that perfect picture or land a really big job. And of course, equally as powerful, is the effect of thinking you look horrible or not landing a series of jobs. I can honestly say that I have allowed the pendulum to swing far on both sides. No model should determine her self worth by her image or ability to get jobs. * When was it that you became conscious that you wanted to be an actress? Natasha Yi: I can't recall a particular moment or event. But I do remember that I started to really pay attention more to movies. I became really impressed by the actors that could make me forget that they were just playing a character. I wondered if I could do the same. Could I skillfully take on the identity of another person...to the point that even a close friend would forget that it's me? Or would they just see me acting a part? Like playing piano, acting just comes naturally to some. For the rest it really is a fun art to learn. * How was your experience like working on "Thunder Over Reno"? Natasha Yi: It was great!! I knew nothing about planes. I don't know much more than that today, but it's incredibly fun to live someone else's life. And like I said, it's fun to see if you can lose your identity to the point that a related person or close friend no longer sees you. I was unable to go to the screening, but my guess is... I was horrible (smiles) but, it's okay. There was so much that I didn't know at the time. I am learning fast and I cannot wait to do it again.ONLY BETTER!! Flying in multi million dollar bi planes at 500 MPH... need I say more? Like I said, the experience was amazing!! I would have paid someone to ride in those planes. And I LOVE the magic of movies. I like that, I can ride in the back of a plane, and with some b-roll and slick editing, and suddenly I'm flying one of those machines. There is obviously an art to direction an editing as well.

* Do you believe that a successful acting career demands the equivalent amount of stress
and effort as what it took to successfully excel in your modeling career?
Natasha Yi: There are a million things that could stress you out when it comes to modeling. So far I haven't found the stress with acting. It is something I really enjoy doing. I know that there is such potential for a reward at the end of it all. The only thing that could be stressful is landing a job. But that is out of my control. As long as I look at things the right way, I don't see how it would bring me stress. NOW, if I get offered the lead role in 3 movies, in one year, I would be stressed. But that is a stress I'd be willing to try!! * Your intense career demands a lot of traveling. How do you handle it? Which place do you call "Home"? Which place do you yearn to go back to? Natasha Yi: God, I can't even talk about traveling right now. I have traveled more than one human being should have to travel. Traveling is only fun when you are a kid, or you are headed to some tropical water. All other traveling... I said I can't talk about traveling now!!!!! * How do you feel about being idolized? Do you see yourself as famous or does attention and adoration still surprise you? Natasha Yi: Attention or adoration is always a nice surprise. It's what almost every breathing thing longs for. I wouldn't like to idolized. I also wouldn't want the attention that Brittney Spears or an Oprah garners. I could go for being... just a teensy, weensy, beensy, bit more famous. Yeah, that would be cool. * Napoleon Bonaparte once said: "People are moved by two levers only: fear and self interest". What do you think? Natasha Yi: I think he forgot hunger, And what about compassion? Compassion moves people and it's not usually done out of self interest. And what if I feed the homeless, merely to make them feel good, yet it's not out of fear that they might die? Tell that Napolean guy to work on it. * What do you like to do in your free time? Natasha Yi: I like to cruise around in my custom built chopper. Yes, it's a giant motorcycle that I love showing off. * What would you like to be five years from now? Natasha Yi: 21 years old. That would be SWEET!!!!!!!! Natasha Yi site: www.NatashaYi.com. Centerfolds
