* Bianca, how are you?
Bianca Beauchamp: Actually, very good! I've just spent a week in beautiful Dominican Republic where I was mainly to do photo shoots. Although modeling can be exhausting sometimes, let say it's always very pleasant to model on white sand beaches and under a dazzling sun! * So, when did your love for latex begin? Bianca Beauchamp: I think I was 19. I was shopping at a sex shop here in Montreal and found that cute and simple black latex dress from Polymorphe . My first impression of the material was curiosity mixed with mistrust and fears. Like many people, I too had my own judgmental misconceptions about latex, fetish, bdsm, etc. I did not buy the dress right away but went back a month later with my thin savings, bought it and made a surprise to my boyfriend Martin by wearing it as a cat woman costume at a Halloween party. And yes, he was happily surprised and excited! Not so long after, we found out there was a little fetish club downtown Montreal where I could have the chance to wear the dress in public. Being dressed up in latex in public has always been a source of inspiration and excitement for me as I've always been a big flirt. The club was small but the three years it was opened, we had a blast there. Over there, we met a lot of new friends such as Mario, the owner and designer of Polymorphe latex fashion which is coincidentally based in Montreal. It's also during that time that Martin, inspired by my energy and body, started to photograph me for fun. Although I liked wearing latex in public, I really disliked being photographed as I thought I would look stupid. That fear of being ridiculous, so common in so many people! Boy, I'm glad I got rid of it! It took a few years before I really let it go, but now, after 10 years of modeling, I can say I rarely feel stupid in front of a camera as I can now laugh at myself and don't take myself too seriously. |

* What does it take to become the best latex model in the world?
Bianca Beauchamp: I would say it takes a mix of a little bit of everything like having a trusty webmaster, excellent photographers to work with, an original web designer that can make your web site look different than the others. It takes also a good manager that can deal for you for contracts. Fortunately for me, all the above I have mentioned are played by my boyfriend Martin. He makes sure that BiancaBeauchamp.com and LatexLair.com, my two websites, are always in the lead and to the top of the fetish web scene. Regarding photo shoots, it's also way easier and funnier for me to work with my boyfriend as he really knows me, and we can decide of our own themes and rhythm during the shoot. On a personal side, well, it takes discipline to stay in shape: I train with a personal trainer at the gym 3-4 times a week and do spinning class too. The body isn't only the only thing to work on, but the mind too: I had to work on my temper, my patience and my fears. Being a model is a wonderful self confidence therapy! To be the best latex model in the world also means you need a good latex designers to work with. Lucky me, I have found one here in the same city I live in. Polymorphe is always happy to create unique outfits that he or I design. Same goes for Catherine Lavoie, my make-up artist and The Richard, my hairstylist; they also help to create a style and nourish my photo shoots with their creativity. I am very lucky to be surrounded by such a good team and without them, I wouldn't have come as far as I am today. * How has your upbringing influenced your own choices and goals in life? Bianca Beauchamp: I am honestly not sure my education and how I was raised played a part in my last minute decision of being a model instead of a teacher. All my life it seems, I've always tend to end up at the other spectrum of where my family and I had pictured myself to be. I am surprised by my own actions and decisions in life, because they were not always what I had thought they would be. I must say I always strive to be a better person, so I suppose it helps me and pushes me forward. I can say for sure my family always loved me and gave me the power to love in return. * What is your concept of Eroticism? Bianca Beauchamp: That's the toughest question of all as I don't want to start explaining the difference for me between porn and eroticism, which this question on eroticism always seems to bring up. It's always a topic with many views and opinions and porn for one person will be bad, for another it will be good, and to make things even more complex, the same image will be considered art by some and porn by others! That being said, for me, eroticism surrounds us. It doesn't have to be big to be seen, and sometimes you have to pay attention to see it. It can be a flirt in the eyes, a cute smirk on the lips, a sensual touch, a sexy dance... Eroticism is, charm, elegance, flirt, sensuality, romance, innocence, passionate love... I like to think my photos contain a bit of all those things. * Your pictures are so unique and original and you play so many roles. Where does your creativity come from, and how do you choose the theme for each photoshoot? Bianca Beauchamp: They mainly come from movies, fairytales and romantic stories I imagine when I go to bed. I have a romantic-theatrical- dramatic mind that plays some tricks on me sometimes, but can be very helpful for photo shoots. I love to play characters because I have to play and imagine other feelings and other way to express those feelings. It's always very refreshing for me to be able to play a villain like I did for the Sin Episodes video game. Its very exciting to shoot with square glasses and an old fashion syringe filled up with fluorescent green stuff. I just feel wicked! * Many of your gorgeous photos were taken by your life partner, glamour and fetish photographer Martin Perreault. You've come a long way together. How would you describe your mutual ability to communicate and share affection? Bianca Beauchamp: At the beginning of our relationship, we had a tendency to fight all the time. I admit my temper was bad and I come from a family where to communicate people shout at each other. So it took us some patience and work but we did it and now, I can say we are a happy couple. On the business side, we pretty much have the same thoughts and ideas about where we want the sites and career to go. It's sometimes tough to make compromises but one of us has to do it in the matter to make this business and love relationship work. On the personal side, Martin and I love to do things together. We actually work almost side by side in our big loft. I can honestly say we love each other very much. * Tell me about your proudest achievement. Bianca Beauchamp: Making my 12 year old long love relationship work is my proudest achievement of all. Let me tell you it's not always easy to be in love, even less easy to work with the person you're in love with! | |

* According to comments you receive from your countless male fans, which tight latex outfit on your tantalizing body, or which type of latex shoots turns them on the most? Bianca Beauchamp: I would say my purple dress (laced on the front and back) always get a tons of good reactions when we publish it on the Lair. That is also why the dress figures on one of the two covers of my book. Men also love seeing me dressed in various characters, the most favorite one being the Catwoman. They also like my latex catsuits and my big collection of high-heel shoes and fetish boots. I am a big high-hell shoe and boot lover, and I have a collection of over a hundred pairs. * How has your book, "Bianca Beauchamp - Fetish Sex Symbol", been received across the country? Bianca Beauchamp: Very good actually! We printed 2000 copies with two different covers to make it even more a collector's edition. The book contains photos from the past 10 years (pre-surgery, heavy rubber style, glam, photos with other models, etc.). Out of the 212 pages, it contains over 40 pages of texts I wrote because I didn't want just a photo book but a book people could get to know me better, like a bio section with photos of my childhood. Let's say we did the book thinking it might be the only one done so we truly invested ourselves in it. We even self published it to make sure the book would reflect our taste and what we wanted to share with the world. And yes, if I say "we" it's because the book was designed by Martin and all the photos it contains are of his work. Even though I did shoot with other very talented photographers throughout my career, we decided at the last minute to focus on our photography together - at least for my first book. So far, the sales are very good and we will be out of stock sooner than we expected. It is quite the success, considering we sell the book mainly online without the help of any distributor. * In an online survey of women with breast implants, nearly all women who had undergone breast augmentation thought the surgery improved their overall appearance and self-confidence, but said it did not result in significant changes in their marriage/dating activities, careers, or social lives. What about you, Bianca? Bianca Beauchamp: I have never hidden that I had two breasts surgeries. The first one was to get bigger boobs, but mainly to get a lift as my natural breasts were disappointedly sagging. And it got worst after I started training and lost fat in my breasts. So I made a move and did the surgery with 300cc saline implants. But after a year, one boob was much bigger than the other one and the saline implants created a lot of ripples. So I went back for silicones and double the implants to 600 cc to get the shape I wanted. Now, I am very happy with them and especially glad I did that lift. People often ask me if I did the surgery for my career. I always answer no, I did it for me as I was unhappy with my natural breasts. Did it help my career advance further? Sure it did! I would have never done that Lingerie Playboy cover with the way my natural breasts looked. I am not frustrated or offended or sad about it; it's just being realistic. On a personal level, many of my friends have implants so we understand each other. My family reacted positively. Sometimes though, I get some nasty stares or laughter on the street from girls or immature boys. It annoys me sometimes, but I have learned to accept my responsibilities and ignore them. I can't stop people from judging other people, but I won't let them bring me down. * As a fetish and latex supermodel, do you feel latex modeling is gaining a mainstream recognition through your work? Bianca Beauchamp: Absolutely. I like to think movie stars and t.v stylists know about my web site or have seen some of my pictures and get inspired by them. I don't know if it's true or not tough. But since I was the first person online to do it, and had a big follow up on the photos I do, I kind of like the idea that they do see my photos and get some inspiration from them. On a mainstream level, we see more and more latex in music clips especially, and in movies too (Batman in the 90's, The Matrix 2, etc.). Leather was associated to gay and bad guys in the 60's and early 70's, but is now socially accepted. I think it's going to be the same for latex soon (if it is not already). * What was the most difficult period in your life, and how did you deal with it? Bianca Beauchamp: I went trough many difficult periods in my life. Every time one of my pets die, when I see my family or friends sick, when I stress over work and when I had to stop my studies... Like everyone I guess, I have some highs and some lows But I always get back on my two feet! * What was the best compliment you have been given - who gave it to you? Bianca Beauchamp: Not to sound like a pretentious brat, I get many emails every week commenting on my work and my body. Like all women, I love compliments. The ones I love the most though are the ones related on my modeling skills and all those feedbacks about how I could inspired someone in their personal or professional life. Those really make me enjoy being a model. * What do you like to do outside the latex world? Bianca Beauchamp: I love to visit my friends, do some shoe shopping, have a few drinks at a club, watch t.v show (like BattleStar Galactica, Lost, and The Dog Whisperer), play with Nikita my long haired chihuahua at the park, go to the restaurant gain back the fat I lost at the gym (just kidding), flirt with girls from time to time at parties, travel south and be lazy like a lizard on the beach… I love many things. I would say I am a very happy person. *If you were an animal, which one would you want to be? Why? Bianca Beauchamp: Well I am totally in love with ferrets. I actually have 3 sharing the loft with my chihuahua and cat. So I would like to be a ferret because they are so funny, curious and lovable. They hide things too, like your keys. They are tiny brats on 4 legs and my friends calls me The Brat all the time (although I only have 2 legs, hey hey) * What kind of projects are you currently working on? Bianca Beauchamp: We are preparing slowly but surely for the Montreal Fetish Week-end in August where I will be hosting this August (2008). And we will try to launch this summer the sequel of my documentary reality film Bianca Beauchamp: All Access.
