Cindy TaylorCindy Taylor's multicultural heritage - Paraguayan and American, has propelled her onto the cover of numerous publications as an Irene Marie model, due to her diverse appeal and Latin fire. She is a famous TV hostess, best known for hosting the E! TV series "Wild On!", replacing former hostess Brooke Burke.Author: Jonathan.L - owner Models Observer October 2007 * Cindy, how are you? Cindy Taylor: Hi Jonathan, How are you? I'm great, I've been now living in LA for a little over 3 years and I love it! * So, how was it like to grow up in Paraguay? Cindy Taylor: Growing up in Paraguay was amazing. It's a small town where everybody knows everyone, very family oriented, the kind of place where you have lunch on sundays with your grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. For the most part you go to school with the same people for 12 years and become close to their families. I go back pretty often and knowing that they'll always be there probably hanging out in the same country club where I use to play, is very conforting. Amazing people, king and giving. * Do you feel more American or more Paraguayan? How is each background expressed in your daily life? Cindy Taylor: Even though I grew up down there, I moved back to the states 10 years ago, and also had the oportunity to also experience the american culture, and at this point I really feel fifty fifty, my dad is american, and I also love it here, at this point I feel like this is where I'm going to live the rest of my life. But of course there are certain things that stick to you like having dinner around 10:30 pm, or having a merienda which is like tea time in South America. * How smooth was your transition from being a model to being a successful television hostess? Cindy Taylor: The transition was pretty fast!!! I was in New York for the summer which was right before I started doind Wild On, and as soon as I got the job I started traveling, I didn't even have time to even notice the change cause I was out the country for so long!!! * Describe a memorable experience fo yours from hosting Wild On!. Cindy Taylor: Wow!! A memorable experience!! That's a hard one, I have so many, but if I have to pick one it would be having the oportunity to go to the great wall of China! I strongly recomend it! But honestly I have so many great memories from so many places, no matter how tired we were we always had a great time!! * Are you wild? Cindy Taylor: Depends what you mean by wild!!! Not really I more laid back actually, but I have had my wild moments!! * What is a day and a week in the life of Cindy Taylor? Cindy Taylor: Every day is different, depends what I'm doing at the time, when I'm working, that takes up most of my time, but when I'm not I love spending time with the people I love, I try to work out, go hiking, maybe go away for the weekend. * How did your parents' divorce affect your life? Cindy Taylor: Like any kid, my parent's divorce was really hard, specially because I didn't see my dad for many years, but one you grow up I think you understand things better and realize that sometimes things don't always work out the way you want them to. * What do you consider as your greatest need? Cindy Taylor: My greatest need... my family!!! * How are you handling the enormous fame and publicity you've gained during the years? Cindy Taylor: Honestly I never felt that the publicity I got with the show really affected my life. It depends what life style you choose to have. * Why do women judge other women's beauty much more than men judge other men? Cindy Taylor: You would be surprised!! I think men are catching up!!!! * Let's say I'm going to spend my vacation in a hotel in Asuncion. What paraguayan food would you recommend me? Cindy Taylor: If you ever have the opportunity to visit paraguay I strongly recomend having Chipa Guazu!!! Very paraguayan. Delicious!! * Which is the more powerful emotion: LOVE or HATE? Why do you think so? Cindy Taylor: LOVE!!! Of course, because it comes from a better place, it makes you feel alive and strong!!! * What do you like to do in your spare time? Cindy Taylor: In my spare time I love watching movies, and belive it or not I'm a clean freak!! So sometimes I'll spend a hole day reorganizing my place. * Any exciting projects in the pipe line? Cindy Taylor: I did a pilot called Driven, where I play a Bipolar Girl on the run, it's a fun part and I'm really excited about it!!!! Also trying to put together a documentry about stem cell transplant. |
