* Cecile, congratulations for winning Holland's Next Top Model! What
did you feel there on stage?
Cecile Sinclair: Oh it was such a nerve wrecking moment and when I had realized I won I was just absolutely over the moon!! * How does your life look like now, after winning the contest? Cecile Sinclair: Well, my modeling career can finally begin. I'm going to do some work for my portfolio/book so and on January 11th I flew to New York to participate with the Ford's Model-of-the-World contest! * How are you so beautiful? Are all of your family members so beautiful also? Cecile Sinclair: Hahaha, Thank you! I wouldn't say I was that great - My parents are absolutely gorgeous, in my eyes so I guess if anywhere- that is where I'd get it from. |

* Before Holland's Next Top Model, you were a student at the Roosevelt Academy in
Middelburg. What was it like for you? Which courses did you like the
most, and why?
Cecile Sinclair: Student life at RA is not like the typical slacking-partying life other students enjoy haha You have to work hard for your grades, read loads and loads, write 4000 word essays every 3 weeks orso and even your attendence/participation is graded. I loved it though. I've finished tracks in anthropology, law and trying to finish politics. It sounds weird but I enjoyed nearly all of my courses (with the great exception of statistics haha)! * How did you decide to move from the academic world to modeling? Cecile Sinclair: Since the academic world and modeling are difficult to combine, I decided it was best to focuss on just one. I wanted to model and having come so far in the HNTM competition I didn't want to just quit now as its something i'm really passionate about. My bachelor degree can wait for a while - I can return to my uni at any time to finish it. * During the season, which task was the most challenging for you? How did you deal with it? Cecile Sinclair: Hmm that's a tough one! I think that had to be bungee jumping, because I am (or rather 'was' after that haha) afraid of heights which is something that just takes over your knees and legs turning them into jelly. It's a mindset kind of thing so the best way to deal with it is just really try to help yourself realise that you are safe so that you feel comfortable. * How would you describe the relationships/atmosphere between Holland's Next Top Model contestants? Cecile Sinclair: In the house it self the atmosphere was better than I had expected it to be. I got on well with nearly everyone but whenever there was a fight it was insanely tense. Something said was either brought or taken the wrong way and some people couldn't each understand/see different point of views. * What did you discover about yourself during Cycle 3 of Holland's Next Top Model? How does it make you feel? Did you see things that surprised you? Cecile Sinclair: During cycle 3 what I learned about myself was that I could adapt to strange situations +new people and actually jump into the unknown without being stressed about not being in control and just going with the flow! * What motivates you? Cecile Sinclair: Setting goals for myself about what I want to do and finding myself moving closer and closer is great motivation.I reckon I find motivation in all sorts of things. If its just to prove something to myself or others...that and I'm a bit of a perfectionist - who also has inherrited her mum's workaholic traits haha! * How would you define success? Cecile Sinclair: Hm, another difficult one!! I guess you could define success when a person finds complete happiness and satifaction with the goals they have set and then achieved. * How does beauty vary from culture to culture? Is there a particular culture's definition of beauty that you admire? Why? Cecile Sinclair: Everyone has been brought up with a different mind set and therefore in different cultures, beauty is defined or seen different and emphasized differently around the world. I really admire beauty being defined from within because personality or attitude can change the way you see a person. If someone is positive or happy then that will shine through - however cheesy that sounds... cheesy but def. true! * How did you prepare yourself for the Ford Models Supermodel of the World contest? Cecile Sinclair: For the Ford Models' Supermodel of the World contest, I was just working on my book and loads of fitness haha! * What do you like to do in your spare time? Cecile Sinclair: It depends where I am. If I'm somewhere new then exploring the area, the culture and second hand shops are def at the top of my list! I love to read, just walk around or on rainy days find the couch-potatoe in me! * So, teach me something about the Dutch culture and language. Please say something nice in your language... Cecile Sinclair: haha Okay this must definitely be the best question so far! Something about Dutch culture? The Dutch are very open and easy-going..they love a good time. And something in Dutch? Ik vind jou lief! (I think you're sweet; pronounced as Eck finned yau leaf). Cecile Sinclair, wins Holland's Next Top Model. Modeling Career | |
