* Dilson, how are you these days?

Dilson Stein: Well, my personal life is excellent, because I have a wonderful life and many friends, professionally I am worthy, respected and with national and international prominence.

* When and how did you get into the modeling world?

Dilson Stein: My first contact with fashion world was watching a parade in 1980 in Horizontina/RS, but I started my career like model in Porto Alegre/RS in 1985 and like scouter and giving courses I started in 1987.

* Was the beginning easy for you? What does it take to be a successful scouter?

Dilson Stein and Gisele Bundchen.
Dilson Stein: The beginning was extremely hard, discredited, with low resources, but I always believed that I would get a result. I was determined, I had much personal and professional discipline, ethics and transparency, I always thought and acted positively, all of this get me to be a successful talent hunter.

* Your father, who was a taxi driver, died when you were a young child. How has this tragic event influenced your life in Horizontina?

Dilson Stein: Influenced me in everything, because it was one of unhappiest and tragic moments of my life, I was only 10 years old. My mother stayed alone and she had to keep up 3 children, only the oldest could work, because he already had 18 years old. I matured very early, only with 12 years old I already work selling ice creams in Horizontina.

* Which modeling courses do you teach, Dilson?

Dilson Stein: Ramp models, photographic models and publicity.

* What is the background of the girls in your modeling courses - what is their age, what is their economic situation, why do they want to be models?

Dilson Stein: The programs of my model course have: Ramp, photography, video, body expression, Make up, social and professional etiquette.
The ages of the girls are7 to 25 years old, the social classes are A, B and C.
Most of the girls would like to be models because they dream to be famous, but I try to tell them that modeling is just a job.

* Which topics are easy for the girls to learn, and which are harder to learn? How do you deal with the difficulties?

Dilson Stein: Ramp is the easiest, but the video is always the most difficult. I always work dynamically, because they are children and adolescents that look for our course to learn and always with huge expectation in our job.

* How are their families involved in the course?

Dilson Stein: All classes are open for parents watch the course. Is much important the presence of the parents!

* How do you recognize during the modeling course the girl that is going to be a supermodel? Please tell me about a pupil of yours that you think has a great potential.

Dilson Stein: To be a supermodel needs talent and personality! In this moment the pupil that has a great potential is the model Isadora Di Domenico From Carazinho/RS. She is 14 years old, at this moment she is in ?sia, her mother follow her and already have contract with a big agency in Nova York.

* Brazil is huge. From your rich experience, what are the places/districts in Brazil with the best potential to discover the most amazing new models? Is it Sao Paulo area, Curitiba, Fortaleza, Manaus, Recife or maybe other place? Why do you think so?

Dilson Stein: Definitely is the Rio Grande do Sul, that currently represent 50% of the models market in Brazil, an important and fundamental factor for this is the mixture of the races that we have in RS. I like very much work on the northwest region of RS, is where I discovered the models Gisele Bundchen, Caroline Trentini, Luize Altenhofen and hundreds of others models.

* One of your well known discoveries is supermodel Gisele Bundchen. What do you remember from Gisele in the modeling course?

Gisele Bundchen surely is the most notable fact of my job of 20 years in this area, because I discovered the best model of the world in the town where I was born.
Gisele started the course to improve her posture, But soon that I saw her I commented to her cousin that she could be one of the best models of the world. She impressed me since the first time I saw her, her forms, her personality, affinity...

* Do you think it will be easy to discover the next Gisele Bundchen?

Dilson Stein: In my opinion we will discover a lot of Top Models, but Gisele is unique, in my opinion Gisele Bundchen is for fashion world what Pele is for soccer.

* How would you describe the contact today between you and the supermodels you discovered in the past? Do you still keep in touch?

Dilson Stein: My objective like talent hunter is inform, prepare and give opportunities. In the moment the models are in one agency, my job is done, but I am always disposable if somebody needs me. I keep contact with some of models and her families.

* What are some of your hobbies?

Dilson Stein: My hobby is play with my children Arthur Pedro of 8 years old and Luis Eduardo of 5 years old, I like play soccer very much too.

* Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?

Dilson Stein: In the fashion world I see myself giving lectures about models market, but I am investing in others businesses, I see myself like a great entrepreneur.
