Physique competitions are divided into three divisions: bodybuilding, fitness, and figure. Figure competition is a mix of fitness and bodybuilding for females and developed out of the conventional fitness division. It reflects fitness in judging, but without the athletic demands of the traditional fitness routine. Competitors are judged on muscle tone, symmetry and overall presentation, but muscle mass is more downplayed than in bodybuilding. It is perfect for women who strive to show off their physique in a feminine way.

Taking part in women's figure competitions is not easy. Competition prep is a process designed to increase in intensity the closer you are to the show day. You'll need to acquire as much knowledge as possible about diet to lose fat (A figure competitor will aim for a 9 - 15% body fat), cardio and weight training as well as posing on stage, so that you can compete at your best. Participating in a figure contest can be both rewarding and grueling experience. If you are serious and ready for hard work, then you may succeed.

What does training and dieting for a figure competition entail? Let's take a look at a few common expenses.

• Nutrition and Training Program costs: It's almost impossible to prepare for a figure competition without a personal trainer that will not only give you the guidance to use equipment and improve your gym workouts, but will monitor your progress along the way, keep you motivated and focused on your ultimate goal. Hiring an experienced figure coach should be an expected cost.
• Posing suits and heel shoes. Posing suit for figure competition is a considerable expense. To save money you can buy a suit and deck it out yourself or search for a gently used one. Most competitors prefer to spend $200 - $1,000 on a new posing suit.
• Travel costs: If your competition takes place in your own area that's fabulous. However, competitions are often held at least a couple hours away and sometimes in another state. Flights and hotels are expenses that should be taken into consideration.

In Figure Competition portal you will find valuable information on how to prepare for a competition. If you've ever had a question about competition - what you should and shouldn't eat, how to train properly, which supplements to take and how to dominate and WIN your figure competition - you will find the answers here.
