1. Jessica, how are you?
Jessica Drake: I'm great! Really busy, which is always a good thing. 2. What was your childhood like? Do you come from a supportive family (or not) and how have they influenced you? Jessica Drake: I was raised by my mother and father in a great neighborhood, went to private school, was in all honors classes. I wore glasses and hid behind books quite a bit. I do come from a mostly supportive family- my parents did divorce much later, but I maintained a close relationship with my father, who passed away almost five years ago. He knew what I did for a living, and while I know it wasn't his first choice for me, he was happy that I was happy. I consider their successes and their failures and I try to learn from them. I take after my father in many ways. 3. There is risk inherent in every career choice whether it is running your own business or whether it is "working for the boss" in a traditional 9-5 job. What prompted you to become an adult movie performer? What has been the biggest challenge for you whilst setting up your independent porn career and how did you overcome it? |

Jessica Drake: It's a very cliche story, so I'll cut right to the point. I was stripping my way through college, wanted to be a feature dancer, met some people in the industry, and got lots of offers… finally almost a year after the first one, I said yes! I was truly surprised the industry was very close-knit, and much more professional than I realized. I was an independent performer for awhile, but the contract offers began pouring in. I did not sign with the right company at first, I was pretty naive. Things really did work out for the best, though, because I signed with Wicked a little over 7 years ago, and couldn't be happier. They are absolutely amazing, and they've done everything for me that they said they would...and more. I think my biggest challenge is ongoing- I really try to change people's perception of the adult business, and there are lots of stereotypes out there!
4. What was it like to host this year's F.A.M.E. Awards with Sunny Leone? Jessica Drake: It was fun! It's a much smaller show than I've done in the past- I've hosted the AVN Awards, and that was CRAZY! But hosting with Sunny was fun and easy- I admire not only her professionalism, but her boobs as well. 5. You have such a huge fan base appreciates your efforts. How do your fans react when they see you in public? And, how do they vary from region to region, or country to country, if at all? Jessica Drake: I LOVE my fans. They are extremely important- if there were no fans, there would be no me! They are usually very excited to see me. I've felt lots of hearts pounding when they hug me or take pictures with me. I try to really connect with each one of them, even if I'm at a crowded convention and the lines are super long, and I've been there all day… everyone deserves the same treatment. The only way they vary from different areas is that certain areas are less "conservative” than others. Some fans are pretty outgoing. 6. How much of your success do you attribute to sheer luck? Jessica Drake: Honestly, not much at all. I really work very hard at what I do. There are not many days that I am completely "off work”- not only do I perform, but I also write, direct, run a website, feature dance, do appearances, host a radio show, give seminars, write a column, etc. I am also constantly exploring new possibilities. I think my success is due to my hard work and determination, Wicked's support, promotion, and encouragement, the support of my fans, and maybe a pinch of luck. 7. What does being a Wicked Girl mean to you? Jessica Drake: Everything. It means I have an amazing company behind me, with an owner who actually cares about his employees. Everyone in the office is hardworking, and they all try to pitch in to make the company the best it can be. At Wicked, I've really been encouraged to grow in so many different ways. I am honored to be a part of that. 8. How do you keep balance in your life when making hardcore movies, and all of your efforts around it, are so time consuming? Jessica Drake: I do so much more than just make hardcore movies- I only star in 7 a year and direct 4-5. My problem is making myself take time off. I truly enjoy what I do SO much, and my work is so diverse that it's never really boring or tedious. I just try to always steal some peace and quiet for myself every now and then, and also I love to go to the spa. 9. In your opinion, who has the better and stronger orgasm - men or women? Why? Jessica Drake: I think that depends on the person and the situation. Every orgasm I've had in my life has been different. I don't think strong orgasms are gender-specific. 10. You have energy and sex is always available. How much can you fuck in one day before you get tired (if you do)? Jessica Drake: Again, that depends on the person and the situation…and the mood. Sometimes a quickie is good, sometimes I'd rather do it for a few hours, again and again. 11. Which sex toys do you like to use at the time of masturbation? Jessica Drake: My fingers, the water in the tub, Jacuzzi jets, the Jessica drake bunny teaser, and pocket rockets. Not all at once, though. 12. How often, if at all, do you use sex to relieve anxiety? Jessica Drake: Anxiety? Not very often. Stress, sometimes. It's also very good for headaches and bad moods. 13. In general, would you say you work more on gut feeling or careful calculation? Jessica Drake: I'd say it's a 50/50 mix of both, I can't have one without the other. 14. What is the hardest lesson you've had to learn? Jessica Drake: I think we all learn it at one time or another, some of us learn it again and again… life is precious… and short. 15. How do you see the difference of your life before and after you entered porn? Jessica Drake: I am more disciplined, more accomplished, and happier now. I'm really proud of all that I've done, and everything I'm planning on doing in the future. 16. How would you evaluate the influence of your strong sexuality on women? Do you believe it makes their love life, marriage and sex life more difficult as they have to compete with the ultimate fantasy you create? Or maybe you'll surprise me by saying you receive supportive letters from women? Jessica Drake: I have many female fans! They are all very supportive and appreciative of what I do. They don't "compete” with me at all. I think I inspire them, they learn from me sometimes. I write a sex column here in LA, I do sex seminars all over the world on many different topics, and the larger percentage of my audience are women. At signings and conventions, I've noticed an increase in couples and single women coming to see me. I also host a radio show and I know I have many women listeners as well. I think that now days, women are not intimidated easily. They are strong, smart, and sexy. 17. What do you think is the best way to inspire women to connect with their authentic selves and sexuality and to fuck so good like you? Can civilian women fuck like porn stars? It seems impossible… Jessica Drake: Anyone can have sex like I do! I am not an acrobat or a freak show, I am just very sexually open minded, and I can communicate to my partner what I like. 18. How would you describe your personal spiritual beliefs? Jessica Drake: I think that what goes around comes around. In life, you really reap what you sow. I think that people should really take a look at the state the world is in and choose a way they can pitch in. I do not agree with organized religions, but that is simply my own opinion. 19. Do you believe that A-level celebrities like you have a moral obligation to give back to the community? Jessica Drake: EVERYONE has an obligation to give back. Everyone. 20. What drives people to crave fame? How does fame affect people psychologically? Jessica Drake: We all want to be loved and appreciated. Some people are fine with it. Others let it go to their heads. 21. Voltaire, the French writer, essayist and philosopher, wrote once: "We never live, we are always in the expectation of living." What do you think? Jessica Drake: I think that's the equivalent of saying, "life is what happens when you're too busy making other plans.”- I try to live in the moment when I can. 23. What defines you as being a Texan? Jessica Drake: The fact that that's where I come from (winks). I am most of the "stereotypes” of a Texan- friendly, outgoing, love steak, I say y'all... 24. What are your hobbies? Jessica Drake: I do charity work, I adopted a rescue dog whom I adore, I love to travel, I'm a bit of a gourmet cook, I like yoga, and sometimes I work strictly to have fun. 25. Do you have an unfulfilled fantasy? Jessica Drake: I have many. I often write them into my movies so I can act them out. That's one of the perks of the job! 26. Any current projects you'd like to mention? Jessica Drake: YES!! Upcoming movies- Hooked, Private Lessons, Tattletale, and Wicked's EPIC motorcycle movie (which I ride in) SPEED will come out late September- check out the most recent movie I wrote, directed, AND starred in- 3 Days in June- it's out now.
